My Disclaimer

I am writing this to give myself a break more than anything. As much as I love to blog and write about what I'm passionate about, I have five more important things in my life right now. I have a precious newborn and three precious other children who I am taking every minute to enjoy right now. When they are all asleep, I also have my best friend-- a dedicated, loving husband to spend time with! So...I am letting myself off the hook. I may end up posting as much as ever, but I also may go missing for a week! Just wanted to let everyone know that if that happens, everything is okay! Feel free to drop me an e-mail anytime. And for those of you close by, stop in and see us. We welcome company and the chance to show off the new little one.

Quick update: Benjamin visited the pediatrician yesterday and is already 2 ounces over his birth weight so he is growing like a weed. He has a short frenulum (the little flap of skin under the tongue) which is making nursing painful for me, but obviously not a problem for him considering the weight gain. Keep us in your prayers!

  1. What do you do about the extra piece of skin? Is there a way to not make it hurt so bad?! Just curious... hope you can get that resolved quickly...for your sake! Like you said, he's obviously not affected by that... He's gaining weight really well and FAST!!! :) He's trying to catch up to his brothers and sister!

  2. I'm sorry nursing is painful right now. Will it get better as he gets bigger (bigger mouth?)? I'm glad it's not affecting him, he's gaining weight really quickly. We definitely have some good eaters :) Let me know if you need anything.

  3. The doctor said he will probably outgrow the problem. If it is too painful, they can clip the skin. I've been researching and both Dr. Sears and La Leche League say it is an easy, almost pain-free procedure, but our doctor seemed hesitant.

  4. Hi, I started reading your blog...I am not sure how I got here, except going from one blog to another. I am a lactation counselor, and I suggest you find a doctor to clip the tongue. Some dentists will even do it. Though it is working now, the baby can damage your nipples so much until it is unbearable to nurse. It is a simple procedure that takes only a few minutes. Hope this helps...I have enjoyed your blog..if you have any questions you can e-mail me at Brynsmommy@aol.com...Allison, Florida mom to 5
