What Are You Reading? April Edition

As I've mentioned I like to read. Sometimes I find myself in the middle of multiple books without realizing how I started so many! So without further ado, here is my current line-up!

The Bible
Cheaper By the Dozen by Frank Gilbreth, Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey
A Lantern in Her Hand by Bess Streeter Aldrich
Keep A Quiet Heart by Elisabeth Elliot (slowly, but surely)
Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan (read-aloud with the kids)
When Children Love to Learn edited by Elaine Cooper
How To Raise a Heathy Child...In Spite of Your Doctor by Robert S. Mendelsohn, M.D.

SO, WHAT ARE YOU READING? Now it is my turn to see who is reading my blog! Leave a quick comment and tell me what you've been reading or let me know a book you recommend!

  1. Unfortunately I haven't read anything, but magazines (and those are few and far between) in a long time. I'd say almost a month. If I'm feeding the baby, Chandler is talking or playing around/with me. If the boys are napping, I'm cleaning, resting or doing household stuff.... If they are both awake, I'm doing stuff around the house, out of the house or with them. This isn't a whoa is me, its just life right now. I assume it gets easier!?!? I can't wait to be able to get lost in a book again! When do you have time to read, girl?! You are super Mom! I admire your ability to do so much with 3 little ones and you home school! You gotta teach me how to do what you do!

  2. I am currently reading "Blink" by Ted Dekker. I am about 3/4 done, and I don't really know what I will read next. There are too many I want to read so the choice will be hard.

  3. Well as you know i read alot! I am only reading a few know though- National Geographic Magazine, Devises and Desires by PD James (scary and good), Anna Karenina, and Breaking Free by Beth Moore

  4. My list:
    1. The Bible (currently in the book of Jeremiah)
    2. When Children Love to Learn (as part of a Charlotte Mason homeschool study group)
    3. Pride and Prejudice (I keep getting sidetracked on this one, but I'm determined to finish!)
    4. Twice Freed by Patricia St. John (historical fiction about the slave Onesimus and his master Philemon)
    5. Macbeth (aloud with Kati for our literature/history studies)
    6. The Cobble Street Cousins series (read-aloud with Bekah)
    7. Always magazines (too many)

There might be something else tomorrow!

  5. Right now I am reading:
    1. The Bible( I am going back trough Genisis)
    2. True North: Peary Cook and the Race to the Pole(this is a book about the race between Peary and Cook to be the first one to the North Pole)
    3. Nurses Who Led the Way( the stories of 9 amazing nurses)
    4. Macbeth(I am reading this in school)

This is all I can think of right now but I may start another book anytime!

  6. In addition to the Bible, I'm currently working my way through Charles Swindoll's series, "Great Lives from God's Word." I just finished re-reading Elizabeth George's "A Woman after God's Own Heart." (I can't decide whether I agree with her or not!) And I'm reading "Through Gates of Splendor" by Elisabeth Elliot - I read the condensed version in junior high, and I recently came across the paperback at a used book store. Of course, with a little boy, I also read "Goodnight Moon," "We're Going on a Bear Hunt," and "My First Truck Book" almost daily!
