House. Home.

:: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: ::

The Trees:

One with mismatched ornaments...embroidered name hearts, cardboard creations,  photo frames...
Lopsided placement...child eye level, three to a branch...
The mark of little ones in our home.

Another with yo-yo ornaments...scraps of fabric, needle and thread...pricked fingers.

The Sentiment:

Glass ball purchased the year we were married... 9 years ago...
Nest...5 eggs for 5 children...this year...
Time ticking on.

The Scents:

Spicy candle...flickering in dim room...
Fresh fir...lone cone...
Cinnamon sticks...tied with color...
Oranges...cloves pressed with bruised thumbs...sun streaming through back window.

The Confection:
Gum drops, royal icing, Red Hots...
Dining table centerpiece...
Magnet to little fingers.

The Message:

Speaking His many names...whispered awe on humble lips.
Christ dwelling in us...the depth, the mystery.

  1. Lovely post, and beautiful sentiments. Thanks for sharing them all. Come on over and say hi :)
    Hugs Denise

  2. I love your tour...and your unique way of sharing your home and your lives!

  3. I want to come over and sit with you while the kids play.

  4. In your pretty, Christmas-y home :)

  5. I wish you could come over, too, Kathi. Some day, maybe.

  6. I love the Garland you made. Did you get that idea from someone?

  7. Yes, Michelle. I got the idea from my friend Allyson. I made it when Benjamin was a baby so this is the third year using it. I've also used individual circles for gift tags. I talked about it a little bit here:

  8. Oh, how fun to see all of your Christmas decorations! Have a wonderful Christmas season!

  9. I love the garland you made, it is so neat! I may end up using this idea from you for my home! Thank you so much for sharing. I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas!!!!
